Poet and Guest Speaker
Poetry has the capacity to turn despair into art and discrimination into advocacy and it’s why I believe poetry belongs in mental health.
For an emotive, moving and hopeful poetry performance from the persepctive of a someone whose navigated the system and is a mental health advocate; at your school, workplace or organisation, get in touch.
I can do a ceremony opener, provide a poetic acknowledgement of country or talk about connection for a 30 minute or hour slot.
“Unused creativity is not benign. It metastasizes. It turns to grief, rage, judgement, sorrow, shame.”
feedback from performances:
“We booked Amber to come and speak to our team at our staff day and show us some spoken word. Amber nailed the brief and delivered a beautiful piece on point with the theme for the day. It was so good to be reminded the power and beauty of words and how words can be used to lift people up and evoke emotion” - Stephen Suttie
“I have been left speechless I haven’t been able to look past your poem as a key takeaway” - conference participant
Counselling / mentoring
In a society that promotes individualism, I’m passionate about contributing to the repair of our sense of connection; to ourselves, each other and the world around us. Connection is protection. If you are struggling with culture in this late stage capitalism and want support then I’d love to help!
I offer a sliding scale payment system and I trust your choices.
Affordable, accessible individual sessions delivered online.
I work holistically and don’t diagnose. My intention is to listen deeply, trusting the wisdom that arises when we are present with one another.
Who/what do I work with?
Anxiety, overwhelm, burn out
Loneliness or isolation
Feeling emotionally stuck
Queer and questioning folk
Artists
Folk who’ve tried traditional therapy and are looking for something non clinical
Folk who don’t qualify for any supports within the system but private support is inaccessible
Folk who want support but have had difficulty with trusting therapists and traditional therapeutic approaches
Grief and loss
Change and life transitions
“Even when the truth isn’t hopeful, the telling of it is”
Affordable, meaningful support from the comfort of your own space
What are the benefits of online sessions?
You get to choose someone who is the right fit, not the most convenient one.
Scheduling becomes about what works in your life not, rather than having to work your life around sessions.
Support can continue while you travel, go away for work, or while you’re on holiday.
Research shows that online support is just as effective as in person support.
After your session, no need to drive home and deal with traffic, you can go for a walk, take a nap, journal, listen to music, draw - whatever feels the most nourishing for you.

Community Services Consulting
“People are flowers of their environment. To solve the problem of human difference we need to look at nature.”
With a near decade experience working in community services; in education, homelessness support and more recently as a lived experience consultant - I’m particularly passionate about diversity and inclusion, especially for those marginalised due to their sexuality, gender identity or emotional distress.
If you are in the midst of including client voice in your strategic planning and policy development, I can offer my experience in facilitating client consultations with the utmost care and professionalism, ensuring people feel heard and that useful, meaningful information is gathered for reporting requirements.
feedback from collaborative work:
“For me working with Amber on a particularly important youth consultation project was an incredibly positive experience.
Ambers ability to create a safe and welcoming space for broad range of different young people is truly remarkable, allowing for genuine and open conversations to elevate their voices and help inform important change.
Amber is deeply reflective, considerate, and insightful, especially when navigating sensitive topics and life experiences. T
heir thoughtful approach fosters trust and ensures that these discussions not only empower people with lived experience but also lead to meaningful improvements in programs/communities .
Amber is someone that is dedicated to and highly skilled in creating positive change.”
